National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) Super Conference in Fort Lauderdale
This morning at 7.00 a.m. I was called by Brien K. Jones on the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) Super Conference in Fort Lauderdale for my Hashtag SoftSkills book as part of the "Around the Valuation World" series.
In the afternoon, I essentially spoke on the principles of successful professionals as part of my soft skills talk. The talk was also broadcast hybrid via Zoom across the United States. There have been various updates from Microsoft in the last few days. Unfortunately, nothing worked. My Notes were not readable. I couldn't control the slides myself, but had to be guided by Chanda Chuon can be clicked manually after consultation with me. Thank you Chanda Chuon! Pretty much everything that could go wrong did go wrong. That's why I was particularly pleased that some of the participants in the auditorium came up to me after the talk and thanked me for the presentation. I accepted the situation as it was and made the best of it. Of course, everything is easier in your own native language. But as they say, "shit happens". We had swapped my computer for a notebook on site. Nothing worked on either notebook! A technical "horror scenario"!
Hence my questions to my speaker colleagues, especially the rhetoric professionals at the German Speakers Association: René Borbonus, Michael Rossié, CSP, Cristian Galvez 🎤 and all others who present regularly:
1. what do you think about interviews at 7.00 a.m. before the first keynote at 8.10 a.m.?
2. what would you have done if your central image messages of your English presentation could not be shown synchronously for the most part because the technology did not play along?
